Nissan has launched the Gravite in India, a sub-4 metre seven-seat MPV built on the CMF-A+ platform with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, AMT option and a CNG retrofit.
Nissan India has launched the Gravite, its first compact seven-seat MPV for the Indian market and the first of three new models the brand plans to introduce here by 2027, ahead of the Tekton SUV and a new seven-seat C-SUV. The Gravite is built on the CMF-A+ platform it shares with the Renault Triber, and at under four metres in length it stays in the lower tax bracket that makes small cars cheaper to own.
The model is positioned as an affordable three-row family car rather than a lifestyle SUV. Nissan has given it its own face to separate it from its Renault cousin, with a gloss-black grille, C-shaped bumper detailing, connected lighting elements and Gravite lettering front and rear. Reported ex-showroom pricing starts from around Rs 5.65 lakh, though the final variant-wise list should be confirmed at your local dealership.

The Gravite is expected to offer an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver display, rear AC vents, keyless entry and push-button start. Safety equipment is reported to include six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring and a rear camera. A dealer-fitted twin-cylinder CNG kit is also available. Production takes place at Nissan's Chennai plant, and the company has said India will serve as an export hub for the model.
Buyers comparing the Gravite against the Triber, Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens can weigh price against space using the AUTOINDIA compare tool. For a broader view of India's budget seven-seaters, our market coverage tracks the segment monthly.
If your budget is under Rs 8 lakh and you need genuine third-row space for occasional use, the Gravite lands in a thin part of the market where the Triber has had a near-free run. The naturally aspirated engine will feel modest with a full load, so a test drive with the family aboard, and the AMT's behaviour in traffic, matter more than the brochure here.
