Ather Energy has launched the Konarc electric scooter in Delhi at Rs 79,999 ex-showroom with up to 200km IDC range, six variants and a 10-year battery warranty.
Ather Energy has launched the Konarc electric scooter in Delhi at a special introductory price of Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom Delhi, including subsidy), days after the scooter first went on sale in Bengaluru. The Konarc is Ather's big push into the mainstream, built on the company's new EL platform and positioned around everyday usability rather than headline performance. Deliveries of select variants have begun in a phased manner, and for now the scooter is being supplied only in parts of North India.
| Specification | Detail |
| Starting price | Rs 79,999 (introductory, ex-showroom Delhi, incl. subsidy) |
| Variants | Six, across S and Z product lines |
| Platform | Ather EL |
| Claimed range | Up to 200km (IDC) |
| Battery warranty | 10 years |
| Service interval | 10,000km, roughly once a year for most riders |
Ownership costs are the real story. A 10,000km service interval means most riders will visit the workshop about once a year, and the 10-year battery warranty directly attacks the biggest anxiety buyers have about electric two-wheelers — battery replacement cost. The Konarc also gets a metal body and a suite of in-house tech features: the smartphone doubles as a virtual key, AutoPop opens the under-seat storage hands-free, and AirWalk uses mild motor torque to make manoeuvring the scooter in tight parking spots easier.
Behind the phased rollout is a supply constraint, not a demand problem. Ather's Hosur plant is running at capacity, and the company says its new Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) facility will be commissioned in December, with production ramping up in the months after. Chief Business Officer Ravneet Phokela expects the Konarc to eventually account for 50-60 percent of Ather's portfolio, and the company is targeting 1,800-1,900 stores over the next 18-24 months, up from around 740 today. At under Rs 80,000 in Delhi after subsidy, the Konarc puts a 10-year-warrantied, low-maintenance electric scooter within reach of ordinary petrol-scooter buyers — exactly the customer Ather wants to convert. The catch is availability: if you are outside North India right now, you may have to wait until early 2027 for the supply picture to improve.
