Bajaj has launched the Pulsar N250SS at ₹1.59 lakh, adding a new four-valve engine, a six-speed gearbox, a quickshifter and a 5-inch TFT console with Google Maps mirroring.
Bajaj Auto has launched the Pulsar N250SS in India at ₹1,59,406 (ex-showroom, Delhi), turning its most powerful Pulsar into a more complete machine rather than just a sticker job. The update follows the same template Bajaj used on the Pulsar N160SS earlier this year: a new valve head, an extra gear, a bigger screen and a handful of features that until now were reserved for the bigger NS400Z.

The headline mechanical change is a four-valve head for the familiar 249cc air- and oil-cooled single. Power climbs from 24.5 PS to 25 PS and torque from 21.5 Nm to 22 Nm, small gains that matter less than the new six-speed gearbox that replaces the old five-speed unit. Bajaj has also added a bidirectional quickshifter, so the rider can shift up and down without touching the clutch, and an electronic throttle body that unlocks selectable ride modes working alongside the existing ABS modes.
| Model | Price (ex-showroom, Delhi) | Power | Gearbox |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bajaj Pulsar N250SS | ₹1,59,406 | 25 PS | 6-speed |
| Bajaj Pulsar N250 | ₹1,45,270 | 24.5 PS | 5-speed |
| Suzuki Gixxer 250 | ₹1,85,000 | 26.5 PS | 6-speed |
| Hero Xtreme 250R Carbon | ₹1,98,000 | 30 PS | 6-speed |
That leaves the N250SS around Rs 14,000 above the standard N250 but comfortably below its two closest rivals, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the recently launched Hero Xtreme 250R. Bajaj is leaning on value here rather than outright output.

The biggest everyday upgrade is the 5-inch colour TFT console that replaces the old LCD cluster. It brings Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts, music controls, document storage and full-screen Google Maps mirroring, so navigation sits directly on the dash. Bajaj has also fitted adjustable clutch and front-brake levers, a USB Type-C charging port, a hazard switch and a panic brake alert that flashes the indicators under hard braking. The bike keeps its 17-inch wheels, upside-down front fork, monoshock and dual-channel ABS, and it is offered in four colours: Atlantic Blue, Brooklyn Black, Fiery Red Orange and Pearl Metallic White.

If you were eyeing a 250cc naked and did not want to stretch to the Gixxer 250 or the Xtreme 250R, the N250SS makes the Pulsar line a stronger proposition. The six-speed gearbox and quickshifter are genuine improvements for highway riding, and the TFT screen brings the bike in line with what buyers now expect at this price. The catch is that the engine is still air- and oil-cooled and the power bump is marginal, so anyone chasing raw performance should still look at the Hero. For everyone else, this is the value pick of the 250cc class.
