Hero MotoCorp has refreshed the top of its premium Xtreme family, launching the updated Xtreme 160R 4V from an introductory ₹1.27 lakh and reworking the Xtreme 250R Carbon at ₹1.98 lakh, both ex-showroom Delhi. The move is part of Hero's push to own a bigger slice of India's fast-premiumising 150cc-plus motorcycle market, where buyers now expect features that until recently were the preserve of far more expensive bikes.

The headline addition across both machines is cruise control, a feature that has quietly become a selling point in the 150-250cc class. Hero has also introduced its first sensorless bi-directional quickshifter on the Xtreme 250R, allowing clutchless upshifts and downshifts, along with more than 50 fit-and-finish improvements including braided cables and a new swingarm tail cover.

Availability and What It Means for Riders

Bookings for both motorcycles opened on 17 October 2026, with deliveries scheduled from 1 November. The Xtreme 160R 4V will be sold through Hero MotoCorp and Hero Premia dealerships, while the Xtreme 250R will be retailed only through Hero Premia outlets.

The 160R 4V keeps its 4-valve engine, advanced braking and a lightweight chassis aimed at sharp handling. For buyers stepping up from a commuter, the real story is the feature list: cruise control, a quickshifter and a more premium finish at a price that still sits well below the KTM 200 and 250 Duke range. Hero's premium push now spans several models, and this refresh makes the Xtreme line the sharpest it has been.
