Honda XR 300L and XR 300 Rally Launched in India — Made-in-India Dual-Sport from ₹1.83 Lakh

By AUTOASTRA Editorial · 5 Oct 2026 · Launch

Honda has launched the made-in-India XR 300L and XR 300 Rally dual-sport motorcycles at ₹1.83 lakh and ₹2.08 lakh, entering the entry-level ADV segment.

Honda Enters the Dual-Sport Segment

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has launched the XR 300L and XR 300 Rally, two made-in-India dual-purpose motorcycles aimed at the growing entry-level adventure segment. Prices start at ₹1.83 lakh for the XR 300L and ₹2.08 lakh for the XR 300 Rally, both ex-showroom, with bookings now open. The launch comes weeks after Honda introduced the Rebel 300 and CB500 here, part of a broader push into premium two-wheelers.

Both bikes share the same 293.5cc single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled engine, which is expected to produce around 24.3 bhp and 26.5 Nm of torque. Where they differ is in intent: the XR 300L is the lighter, more road-friendly dual-sport, while the XR 300 Rally adds touring-focused equipment and a more off-road-ready stance.

Why This Segment Matters

Entry-level adventure and dual-sport motorcycles have been one of the faster-growing corners of the Indian two-wheeler market, driven by riders who want a machine that can handle broken roads, weekend trails and daily commuting without the weight and cost of a full adventure tourer. The segment was long dominated by the Hero XPulse 210, with the Kawasaki KLX 230 at the premium end. Honda's arrival adds a credible, locally built option with a denser service network.

What This Means for You

Honda's made-in-India positioning matters here: local production usually means keener pricing, quicker spares and easier service, all of which count for buyers who intend to actually take the bike off the tarmac. The Rally, at ₹2.08 lakh, will appeal to riders planning longer trips, while the XR 300L is the more sensible pick for mostly-road use.
