Hyundai Bayon Officially Revealed: Venue-Creta Gap Filler to Launch This Festive Season

By AUTOASTRA Editorial · 17 Sept 2026

Hyundai has revealed the Bayon SUV's design for India. Positioned between Venue and Creta, the Bayon launches this festive season — expected price, features, engines.

Design: "Art of Steel" With a Tougher Stance

Hyundai Motor India has officially revealed the design of the Bayon, a new compact SUV that will sit between the Venue and the Creta when it launches this festive season. The reveal came through official design sketches and a short teaser video — our clearest look yet at Hyundai's next big bet for India.

The Bayon follows Hyundai's evolving "Art of Steel" design philosophy: sharply defined surfaces, architectural forms and prominent character lines that give it a more muscular appearance than either of its siblings.

The front end gets a wide, upright fascia with Hyundai's new "H-Edge" lighting signature — a slim horizontal LED element spanning the front, complemented by vertical lighting at the edges. The teaser confirms the H-Edge LED DRLs come with a smoked black bezel, and a new red exterior colour has been revealed for India.

Other details visible in the sketches and on spotted test vehicles include a heavily sculpted bonnet with a 3D Hyundai logo, pronounced wheel arches, roof rails, a chunky skid plate, an integrated spoiler, shark-fin antenna and LED tail-lights.

Interior: Built Around Screens

The interior sketch shows a technology-focused cabin with a large, single-piece display unit housing two screens — the dual integrated set-up Hyundai now uses across its range — along with a new three-spoke steering wheel, a redesigned centre console, a wireless charging pad and vertically stacked AC vents.

Hyundai says the Bayon is an "Intelligent Utility Vehicle" for urban buyers — a high-tech interior wrapped in a tough SUV exterior.
