Kia India and Jio-bp have integrated their EV charging networks, taking the number of public charging points accessible through the MyKia app to more than 23,500.
Kia India and Jio-bp have integrated their electric vehicle charging networks, giving Kia EV owners access to more than 23,500 public charging points through a single app. The tie-up, announced on 16 October, folds Jio-bp's 7,000-plus charging points — spread across more than 1,100 sites in over 300 cities — into K-Charge, the charging platform inside Kia's MyKia app.
One clarification matters here: this is a boost to access, not a sudden wave of new hardware. Jio-bp has not built 23,500 new chargers; its existing network is simply now visible inside Kia's app, and the two numbers should not be added together. The total Kia owners can reach through K-Charge has risen to more than 23,500 points.
The partnership runs in both directions. Kia drivers can locate Jio-bp chargers, plan routes, start and monitor a session, and pay — all inside K-Charge. In return, Kia's 125 operational dealership DC fast chargers, plus future units, will be progressively added to Jio-bp's pulse charge pro app. The companies have not said when that reverse rollout will be complete.
| Figure | What it describes |
|---|---|
| 23,500+ points | Total accessible to Kia EV owners through K-Charge |
| 7,000+ points | Jio-bp charging points now included |
| 1,100+ sites | Jio-bp locations, across 300-plus cities |
| 60kW to 480kW | Jio-bp's DC fast charger range |
| 125 chargers | Kia dealership DC fast chargers joining Jio-bp's app |
Jio-bp, the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility, says its network maintains 96% uptime and includes high-capacity chargers on major national highways. That highway footprint is the part that matters most for long-distance travel, where a working fast charger can be the difference between a smooth trip and a long wait. The move builds on Kia's February tie-up with BPCL, which added more than 3,000 charging points to K-Charge.
If you own or are considering a Kia EV, the practical gain is convenience: fewer apps, one payment flow and a wider choice of stops. But access integration does not change how fast your car charges — that still depends on the vehicle, the connector, the charger and the battery's state. Before a long drive, check that the charger you plan to use is listed and live in the app, and keep a backup stop in mind.
