Mahindra has introduced the Bolero Bold Edition with bronze exterior detailing, leatherette seats and a rear-view camera, but no engine changes.
Mahindra has introduced the Bolero Bold Edition, an accessory package that dresses its long-running workhorse SUV in bronze-themed detailing without touching the mechanicals underneath. The package adds bronze accents to the front fascia, bronze-finished alloy wheels, additional body cladding along the sides and roof rails, along with leatherette seats inside. The one functional addition is a rear-view camera.
The timing is deliberate. Mahindra has built up inventory well ahead of the festive season, when the Navratri-to-Diwali stretch delivers roughly a third of the year's business, and a cosmetic variant is a low-cost way to pull fresh attention to a model that has not had a major update in years.
| Bolero Variant | Ex-showroom Price |
|---|---|
| B4 (base) | ₹8.57 lakh |
| B6 | ₹9.37 lakh |
| B6 (O) | ₹9.69 lakh |
| B8 (top) | ₹9.99 lakh |
| Bold Edition | Price to be announced |
The Bolero Bold Edition uses the same 1.5-litre mHawk75 three-cylinder turbocharged diesel as the standard SUV. It produces 76 PS of peak power at 3,600 rpm and 210 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,200 rpm, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox that drives the rear wheels. There are no changes to the engine, suspension or braking hardware.
That is consistent with how Mahindra has handled the Bolero for years. The SUV has stayed on sale largely because its diesel engine is cheap to run and easy to repair in small towns, and because its resale value holds up. Buyers who want more modern safety or refinement are pointed towards the Bolero Neo or the Scorpio Classic.
The Bolero's appeal has always been practical rather than emotional. It is one of the few diesel SUVs left under ₹10 lakh, it can take a beating on rough roads, and its running costs are among the lowest in its class. For a family in a semi-urban or rural market that needs one vehicle to do school runs and light load duty, that combination is hard to beat.
If you want a Bolero that looks a little more current, the Bold Edition delivers that for the cost of an accessory pack, and the rear-view camera is a genuine improvement on a vehicle with this much body behind the driver. If you were hoping for an updated engine, more airbags or a safer body shell, nothing has changed. Mahindra has not announced the Bold Edition's price yet, so the decision rests on how much the dealer asks for the package.
