Maruti Grand Vitara prices hiked by Rs 5,000 across petrol, hybrid and CNG variants, the third Maruti price increase since May 2026.
Maruti Suzuki has increased prices of the Grand Vitara mid-size SUV by a standard Rs 5,000 across the range, effective from the start of September. The revision applies to both 2WD and AWD models as well as CNG variants, though certain optional variants of the Alpha and Zeta trims have been left out of the increase, and Zeta CNG prices have actually been reduced by up to Rs 15,000.
The Grand Vitara currently carries a listed starting price of Rs 10.77 lakh (ex-showroom, per CarWale data), and competes in India's most contested segment against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Tata Curvv and the newly launched Tata Sierra. It is offered with petrol, strong-hybrid and CNG powertrains, one of the broadest powertrain spreads in the mid-SUV class.
| Maruti Suzuki Price Action | Quantum | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Portfolio-wide hike | Up to Rs 30,000 | June 2026 |
| Portfolio-wide hike | Up to Rs 30,000 | August 2026 |
| Select models | Up to Rs 20,000 | September 2026 |
| Grand Vitara specific | Rs 5,000 standard (Zeta CNG cut up to Rs 15,000) | September 2026 |
This is the Grand Vitara's contribution to a year of repeated, smaller price revisions that has become the industry's preferred way of passing on commodity inflation, currency pressure and rising technology and compliance costs, instead of one large annual increase. Maruti has now raised prices three times since May, while Tata Motors, Hyundai, Mahindra, Kia and the luxury marques have all followed similar paths in 2026.
An updated Grand Vitara is expected in 2027, likely adding ADAS, a digital instrument cluster and a new six-speed manual gearbox, which gives the current car a clear runway as the older model in its set. For buyers, a marginal Rs 5,000 increase matters less than timing, since festive-season dealer discounts between now and Diwali typically offset far more than the hike itself on most trims.
