Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift launches in India on October 5 with a new Superscreen cabin, vegan interior option and up to 850Nm from its V8 powertrain.
Mercedes-Benz will launch the facelifted Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in India on 5 October, roughly six months after the car's international debut. The current S 580 retails at Rs 2.87 crore ex-showroom before options, and prices of the updated version will be announced at the launch event.
The visual changes follow the updated S-Class family: the signature vertical-slat grille is now framed by LED illumination, an illuminated Mercedes star sits on the bonnet, a Maybach wordmark sits above the slats, and the tail-lamps get the star-themed LED signature. The car remains 180mm longer than the long-wheelbase S-Class, and buyers can choose from additional two-tone paint combinations and 20- or 21-inch forged alloy wheels.
Inside, the facelift adopts the Superscreen layout: a 14.4-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger, all running on a new electrical architecture with four high-performance computers. The rear seats now recline up to 43 degrees, against 38 degrees in the standard S-Class, with heating, ventilation and massage functions. Notably, this is the first Maybach to offer a leather-free vegan upholstery option.
| Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Facelift Powertrains | Engine | Output | Notes |
| S 580 (international) | 4.0-litre V8 petrol | 537hp / 750Nm | Flat-plane crank V8 |
| S 580 (India, expected) | 4.0-litre V8 petrol | 612hp / 850Nm | Variant likely for our market |
| S 580e (international) | 3.0-litre six + 22kWh battery | 585hp / 750Nm combined | Up to 98km electric-only range |
For the small band of buyers in this bracket, the 5 October date matters because festive-season deliveries of ultra-luxury cars are typically locked in weeks ahead, and Maybach allocation for India is usually limited. The facelift is an evolution rather than a revolution, but the Superscreen cabin and the 612hp tune expected for India make it the most technically complete Maybach sedan yet sold here. If a plug-in hybrid S 580e joins the lineup later, it could also become the most fuel-efficient way to be chauffeured in the country.
