MG Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm Launched at Rs 19.99 Lakh — What You Get

By AUTOASTRA Editorial · 8 Oct 2026 · Launch

JSW MG Motor India has launched the 2026 Hector Storm Series — Blackstorm and Snowstorm — at Rs 19.99 lakh, a five-seat petrol-CVT only line-up for the festive season.

MG Hector Storm Series Priced Under Rs 20 Lakh

JSW MG Motor India has added two limited-run editions to its Hector line-up for the festive quarter, calling them the 2026 Storm Series. The Hector Blackstorm and the Hector Snowstorm both carry a sticker price of Rs 19,99,800 ex-showroom, which quietly places MG's flagship SUV just below the psychological Rs 20 lakh mark at a time when every rival is fighting for showroom footfalls.

The two editions are mechanically identical. Both use MG's 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine making 143 bhp and 250 Nm, paired only with a CVT automatic. Both are strictly five-seaters. There is no diesel, no manual and no three-row option this time, a notable narrowing from the previous Snowstorm, which arrived in September 2024 at Rs 21.52 lakh and could be had with a diesel engine or as a six and seven-seater.

What Blackstorm and Snowstorm Actually Change

The difference between the two cars is almost entirely cosmetic. The Blackstorm blacks out the exterior, while the Snowstorm pairs a Pearl White body with a Starry Black roof. Inside, both switch to a Nimbus Black cabin. Buyers also get a Storm accessory package fitted free at the dealership, which MG says is covered by its financing offer of up to 100 per cent of the on-road price over tenures stretching to 84 months.

Equipment carries over from the top Hector trims: a 14-inch portrait touchscreen, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, ADAS, a 360-degree camera and the i-SMART connected-car suite with more than 70 features. Ownership runs on MG Shield's standard 3+3+3 package — a three-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance and three labour-free periodic services, with extended cover available at extra cost.

What This Means for You

At Rs 19,99,800 the Storm Series undercuts the outgoing special edition by roughly Rs 1.5 lakh, but it strips away the diesel, the manual and the extra rows. If you want a loaded, automatic, five-seat petrol SUV for the family and you like the idea of a blacked-out or dual-tone look without paying a customiser, these editions make sense. If you need a diesel or a seven-seat Hector, you will have to step back to the regular range. Compare the on-road figure in your city before booking, since registration and insurance will push the Delhi price past Rs 23 lakh.
