Range Rover Sport Electric bookings are open in India with a 118.5kWh battery, 550hp dual-motor power and 609km WLTP range. India arrival is due March 2027.
JLR India has opened bookings for the Range Rover Sport Electric, the first fully electric version of its performance SUV. Revealed globally alongside the larger Range Rover Electric, the Sport Electric carries a 118.5kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing up to 550hp and 850Nm. JLR claims a WLTP range of 609km, slightly higher than the 600km claimed for the bigger Range Rover Electric.
The SUV is built on JLR's 800-volt MLA-Flex architecture, the same platform that underpins the flagship Range Rover Electric. JLR says torque builds 50 percent faster than in its larger sibling, and the 850Nm peak is the highest of any Range Rover Sport yet. The claimed 0-100kph time of 4.5 seconds matches the P540 V8 version of the petrol-powered Sport.
| Specification | Range Rover Sport Electric |
| Battery | 118.5kWh |
| Claimed range (WLTP) | 609km |
| Power / Torque | 550hp / 850Nm |
| 0-100kph | 4.5 seconds |
| Battery warranty | 8 years or 1.6 lakh km |
| Expected India arrival | March 2027 (fully imported) |
Four variants will be offered in India: Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography and First Edition. The First Edition comes in Zadar Grey with a satin wrap, a black contrast roof and 22-inch alloy wheels, while Autobiography buyers can personalise further through Range Rover Bespoke, JLR's in-house commissioning service.
Expect pricing around ₹2.50 crore when it lands as a completely built unit, a steep premium over the ICE-powered, non-SV Range Rover Sport currently sold between ₹1.43 crore and ₹1.60 crore. As a battery electric vehicle, the Sport Electric will not qualify for the import duty concessions available under the India-UK Free Trade Agreement.
India's luxury EV buyers now have one more option with genuine long-range credentials, but the wait runs into early 2027 and the price sits firmly in supercar territory. Booking early only matters if you want the limited First Edition. For everyone else, the ICE Sport remains the value pick of the range. Land rover is looking serious for Ev lineup ! Recently they launched RANGE ROVER EV and now Sport EV. Good strategy to Compete with German and American Brands.
