Skoda Slavia Facelift Launch on 6 October — New 8-Speed AT, 360 Camera, Expected Price

By AUTOASTRA Editorial · 4 Oct 2026 · Launch

Skoda's Slavia facelift launches on 6 October with a new 8-speed automatic for the 1.0 TSI, a 360-degree camera and rear-seat massaging. Here's what changes.

The First Big Update in Four Years

Skoda will launch the facelifted Slavia on 6 October 2026, the midsize sedan's first comprehensive update since it arrived more than four years ago. Production has already begun at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India's Chakan plant near Pune, and pre-bookings are open for ₹15,000. The current Slavia is priced between ₹9.99 lakh and ₹18.29 lakh, and the facelift is expected to command a premium.

The mechanical headline is a new eight-speed automatic for the 1.0-litre TSI, replacing the six-speed unit, while the 1.5-litre TSI continues with its seven-speed DSG. Outputs are unchanged at 115hp and 178Nm for the 1.0-litre and 150hp and 250Nm for the 1.5-litre. Visually, the sedan gets revised headlamps with new daytime running lamp signatures, restyled bumpers, sportier 16-inch alloys and sequential turn indicators at the rear, plus two new paint options, Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige.

Comfort Over Cosmetics

The most interesting additions are not the visual ones. A rear-seat massaging function, borrowed from the Kushaq, is rare in this price band, and a variable-geometry air-conditioning compressor should make the cabin cool faster in Indian summers. The switch to a larger 10.25-inch digital driver's display and an upgraded 10.1-inch touchscreen brings the Slavia in line with newer rivals. A single-pane sunroof and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto carry over.

What This Means for You

Skoda has kept the Slavia's strengths, its turbo-petrol engines and European driving feel, and addressed the equipment gaps that cost it against rivals. The new eight-speed automatic should make the 1.0-litre more relaxed in traffic than the older six-speed unit. It continues to fight the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Virtus, all of which have also been updated recently, so pricing on 6 October will decide how compelling it is.
