Stellantis will invest about Rs 4,000 crore in India over three years and launch 12 Jeep and Citroen products, aiming to triple sales by 2030.

Stellantis to Invest Rs 4,000 Crore in India

Stellantis has announced a fresh investment of about Rs 4,000 crore in India over the next three years, under a roadmap it calls FaSTLAne 2030. The money will fund 12 new or updated products across its Jeep and Citroen brands, with the first launch scheduled for the April to June quarter of 2027. The company says the plan will take its cumulative investment in India to roughly Rs 15,000 crore by 2030.

The 12 products break down into seven all-new models and five major upgrades. Jeep will account for five of them and Citroen for seven. The spread covers B, C and D segment SUVs, an MPV, an A-segment car and a premium pickup. Stellantis India's managing director and CEO, Shailesh Hazela, said the ambition is to grow domestic sales to three times their current level by 2030.

The company said about half of the new products will be global models and the other half developed in India, and that it may use Tata Motors passenger vehicle architecture for some of them to improve localisation and cost. Stellantis is targeting 90 per cent localisation across both brands. Today, Citroen models sit at about 90 to 95 per cent localisation, while Jeep is at 70 to 75 per cent.

What It Means for Indian Buyers

For buyers, the significance is choice and competition. Jeep is currently a niche premium SUV player in India with four models, and Citroen has struggled to gain a foothold despite competitive pricing. A 12-product offensive across seven years, spanning an affordable A-segment car to a premium pickup, is a serious commitment to the market.

Stellantis already operates three plants in India, at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra and Thiruvallur and Hosur in Tamil Nadu, along with engineering and software operations. The company's India business grew 35 per cent in the second quarter of calendar year 2026, and Citroen retail sales rose 68 per cent over the same period last year. Whether the roadmap translates into showroom success is the question buyers should watch, because more credible competition in the mass and mid segments is good news for everyone shopping for a car.
