Tata Motors to Raise Commercial Vehicle Prices by Up to 1% From October 1

By AUTOASTRA Editorial · 18 Sept 2026 · News

Tata Motors will raise commercial vehicle prices by up to 1% from October 1, 2026, its second CV price hike this year, citing rising input costs.

Tata Motors Announces Second Commercial Vehicle Price Hike of 2026

Tata Motors will increase prices across its commercial vehicle range by up to 1% with effect from October 1, 2026, the company said in a stock exchange filing on September 17. The quantum will vary by model and variant, and the revision has been attributed to rising commodity and other input costs.

This is the second commercial vehicle price hike by Tata Motors this calendar year, after an increase of up to 1.5% that took effect from April 1, 2026. The company has not disclosed model-wise revisions this time either, which means fleet operators will only see exact increases at the point of purchase once the new prices kick in.

Hyundai Motor IndiaUp to 1% (about Rs 12,800)June 1, 2026

The move mirrors a broader industry pattern. Maruti Suzuki has raised prices three times since May, with increases of up to Rs 30,000 each in June and August and up to Rs 20,000 on select models in September. Hyundai Motor India, Mahindra and Kia have all announced revisions this year, as have luxury players including BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi.

For the commercial vehicle sector, the timing is delicate. The festive quarter is the strongest period for freight movement and last-mile logistics, and operators typically finalise fleet purchases now to maximise running during the season. A price increase from October 1 means buyers who book and take delivery this month can still lock in current prices.

Tata's commercial vehicle portfolio spans utility vehicles, pick-ups, trucks and buses, covering applications from last-mile delivery to public transport. The announcement comes nearly a year after the company's corporate restructuring, under which TML Commercial Vehicles Limited was renamed Tata Motors Limited with effect from October 29, 2025.
