TVS has added traction control and emergency brake warning to the Raider TFT DD and SXC DD variants, claiming a first for the 125cc motorcycle segment, with prices from ₹1,00,330.
TVS Motor Company has introduced a Traction Control System and Emergency Brake Warning on the TVS Raider TFT DD and Raider SXC DD variants, describing the traction control as a first in the 125cc motorcycle segment. The update is aimed squarely at everyday riders, and it reflects a broader trend in India: features once reserved for premium bikes are steadily trickling down to commuter models.
Traction control works by momentarily reducing engine power when the rear wheel begins to lose grip, which is useful on the potholed, gravel-strewn and rain-slicked surfaces that make up much of Indian commuting. The Emergency Brake Warning, meanwhile, flashes the tail lights when a rider brakes hard, giving the person behind an extra moment to react.
| Variant | Price (ex-showroom, Delhi) | Key additions |
|---|---|---|
| TVS Raider SXC DD | ₹1,00,330 | Traction control, emergency brake warning, wider rear tyre, 27W USB-C |
| TVS Raider TFT DD | ₹1,03,170 | TFT display, traction control, emergency brake warning, wider rear tyre, 27W USB-C |
Alongside the safety electronics, TVS has added a wider rear tyre for better grip and stability, and a 27W USB Type-C fast charger — a small but genuinely useful addition for riders who run navigation and music on their phones. These join the Raider's existing package, which includes a three-valve engine, iGO Assist with a boost mode for stronger acceleration, Glide Through Technology for easy low-speed manoeuvring, and a TFT console with more than 99 connected features.
The 125cc commuter class is India's volume heartland, and it has traditionally competed on mileage, price and service reach rather than technology. TVS is betting that safety features can become a differentiator, much as ABS did a few years ago. The Raider already punches above its weight on equipment, and adding traction control gives dealers a fresh talking point during the festive season.
If you are cross-shopping commuters, our Compare tool and the bike finder make it easy to line up specs, while the EMI calculator shows the monthly cost.
If you ride through mixed traffic and monsoon roads, the added traction control and brake warning are a real, if modest, safety gain for a small price premium. Just keep expectations realistic: a 125cc commuter is still about economy and reliability, and no electronic aid replaces good tyres, well-maintained brakes and sensible riding. If your priority is pure mileage per rupee, the base variants remain the smarter buy.
