Ultraviolette X-47 Venom Launched at ₹2.65 Lakh — 343 km Range and 12 kW DC Fast Charging

By AUTOASTRA Editorial · 23 Oct 2026 · Electric

Ultraviolette has launched the X-47 Venom at an introductory ₹2.65 lakh with a 343 km claimed range, 155 kmph top speed and 12 kW DC fast charging.

Ultraviolette X-47 Venom Goes on Sale at ₹2.65 Lakh

Ultraviolette Automotive has put the X-47 Venom on sale in India at an introductory price of ₹2.65 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Bengaluru company is holding that price only for the first 5,000 buyers. Once that window closes, the motorcycle is listed at ₹3 lakh. Bookings opened on 22 October, with deliveries from November 2026.

The X-47 Venom is the first motorcycle built on Ultraviolette's new VX-100 architecture, a 100-volt electrical platform that will also underpin future models, including the Tessaract and the Shockwave.

343 km Range and 12 kW DC Charging

The headline figures are a claimed Indian Driving Cycle range of 343 km and a top speed of 155 kmph. Power comes from a 30 kW motor that Ultraviolette calls the UV LIGHTFURY, built using soft magnetic composite material to trim weight and energy losses. Claimed torque at the wheel is 550 Nm, good for 0-60 kmph in 2.7 seconds.

Charging is where the Venom moves the goalposts. It supports 12 kW external DC fast charging alongside a 1.6 kW onboard charger, and Ultraviolette says it is the only electric two-wheeler on sale in India that can accept 12 kW DC. That matters more than the range number, because slow charging, not range, is what keeps most buyers away from electric motorcycles.

What the VX-100 Platform Changes

The VX-100 platform bundles three new pieces of hardware: the LIGHTFURY motor, the SRB-11 battery pack and a new motor control unit. Ultraviolette says the SRB-11 pack carries higher energy density and twice the cooling performance of the outgoing unit, with a thermal system designed to shed heat faster. Safety hardware includes a pyro-fuse that isolates the circuit within microseconds of a critical fault, plus a cell-level fuse and a battery management system.

The platform work shows in the weight. The Venom's 180 kg kerb weight is up to 20 kg lighter than the previous-generation platform, which is significant on a machine this quick. Ultraviolette will also show the bike in Europe at EICMA in Milan on 3 November, with sales planned across 20 European markets.

Ultraviolette is betting that fast charging, not just range, will pull buyers towards premium electric motorcycling

What This Means for Buyers

At ₹2.65 lakh, the X-47 Venom is aimed at riders who would otherwise look at a 400cc-class petrol motorcycle, and the arithmetic only works if you value the electric drivetrain itself. Running costs are far lower than petrol, and Ultraviolette's ₹779 crore Hosur plant should improve service coverage as it scales. But the introductory price will not last, and the real-world range will sit well below the 343 km claim once you ride at highway speed with a pillion.
