Altigreen Minsara Launched at ₹1.24 Lakh — An Electric Two-Wheeler Built for Work

By AUTOASTRA Editorial · 6 Nov 2026 · Electric

Altigreen has entered India's electric two-wheeler market with the Minsara, a utility-focused EV priced from ₹1.24 lakh with 172Nm of torque and deliveries from 1 December.

Altigreen Minsara: Not a Commuter Scooter

Altigreen has spent its life building electric cargo three-wheelers. The Minsara is its first two-wheeler, and the company has pointedly not built a lifestyle scooter. Priced from ₹1.24 lakh, ex-showroom, it targets farmers, delivery riders, small traders, service technicians and fleet operators — people who buy a vehicle to earn from it.

That positioning explains specifications that look strange on a scooter spec sheet. Peak torque is 172 Nm, gradeability is 33 percent, and the gross vehicle weight rating is 264 kg. A conventional 110cc scooter makes about 9 Nm. The Minsara is designed to haul a load up an incline, not to look good outside a cafe.

What Altigreen Is Betting On

The commercial two-wheeler buyer is the most rational customer in the Indian market. They care about payload, downtime and the cost of a replacement battery. Altigreen's pitch is built around those three: crash guards and a rib-caged chassis for durability, a main stand plus a side stand with a safety alert for loading, and a warranty that runs to three years or 30,000km.

The company is now part of the JAKSON Group. Deepak Thakur, chief executive of JAKSON Green Vehicles, framed the launch around utility rather than style.

The Distribution Problem It Has to Solve

Bookings are open only through dealerships in Bengaluru, Vijayawada and Noida, with deliveries from 1 December 2026. That is a narrow footprint for a product whose customers are spread across semi-urban and rural India.

Service is the harder half. A cargo three-wheeler that breaks down in a city can be recovered. A utility two-wheeler used by a farmer 40km from the nearest dealer cannot wait a week for a part. This is where established players with hundreds of touchpoints have an advantage a good product alone does not erase.

The wider market is moving Altigreen's way. Electric two-wheeler retails hit 2.23 lakh units in October 2026, and the commercial end of that market is growing faster than the personal commuter segment, because the total cost of ownership case is easier to prove when a vehicle runs 100km a day. What This Means for You

If you run a small business and spend more than ₹4,000 a month on fuel for a motorcycle or scooter, the Minsara is worth a test ride — but only if you are within reach of one of those three cities, and only after asking two questions the brochure will not answer: what does a replacement battery cost, and how long will the dealer take to supply one. For personal commuting it makes little sense. For load-carrying work it might, and our comparison tool will help you check what a petrol alternative costs first.
