MG Motor India has raised Hector Tomahawk EV prices by ₹75,800 across all four configurations, taking the range to ₹20.24 lakh-₹24.24 lakh, while the PHEV rises by just ₹800.
MG Motor India has increased prices of the Hector Tomahawk EV by ₹75,800 across every configuration, and the symmetry is the story — the company did not stagger the increase by trim. All four configurations, spread over the Excite, Exclusive and Essence variants with five- and seven-seat layouts, move up by the same amount.
After the revision, the electric Hector Tomahawk range sits at ₹20.24 lakh to ₹24.24 lakh, ex-showroom. The plug-in hybrid version of the same SUV has been treated very differently: its two seven-seat variants go up by ₹800 and now cost ₹25.69 lakh to ₹27.79 lakh.
| Model | Powertrain | Battery | Claimed range | New price range | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hector Tomahawk EV | Electric, 204 hp, 310 Nm | 69.2 kWh LFP | 517 km | ₹20.24 lakh - ₹24.24 lakh | + ₹75,800 |
| Hector Tomahawk PHEV | 1.5L petrol, 102 hp, plus 201 hp e-motor | 20.5 kWh | 1,100 km and above | ₹25.69 lakh - ₹27.79 lakh | + ₹800 |
The Hector Tomahawk EV is the first MG on the company's ADAPT platform. The hardware has not changed with the price: a 69.2 kWh LFP battery, 204 hp and 310 Nm, a claimed 517km of range and 0-100 kph in 8.2 seconds. Charging is 90kW DC, taking the battery from 30 to 80 percent in about 35 minutes, or 7.4kW AC for roughly 12.5 hours from 10 to 100 percent.
The PHEV is the more interesting product on paper. It pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 201 hp electric motor and a 20.5 kWh battery, claims more than 115km of electric-only running and over 1,100km with a full 52-litre tank, and offers six drive modes including a pure EV setting.
A price hike in isolation is not news. A price hike while your market share is halving is. JSW MG Motor retailed 5,938 electric cars in October 2026, up 11 percent year on year — respectable until you compare it with a market that grew 76 percent to 36,911 units. MG's share of India's electric car sales fell from 26 percent in October 2025 to 16 percent in October 2026, while Tata held 40 percent and Mahindra climbed to 23 percent.
The causes are not mysterious. The Windsor EV remains MG's bestseller in a price band where Tata's Punch EV, Tiago EV and Nexon EV have all been refreshed, and where Mahindra has pushed Battery-as-a-Service down its range.
If you booked a Hector Tomahawk EV before this revision, get written confirmation from your dealer that the old price applies — MG has not announced a price-protection scheme, and ₹75,800 is real money on a ₹20 lakh car. If you are still shopping, the honest position is that the Tomahawk EV is a good car in a segment that has become brutally competitive, and the gap to the PHEV has narrowed. Run both through our comparison tool and check current variant details on the MG Hector model page before visiting a showroom.
