MG Windsor EV and Majestor Get Costlier From November 2026 — Up to ₹1 Lakh More

MG Price Hike: Windsor EV Up ₹15,000, Majestor Up ₹1 Lakh

JSW MG Motor India has quietly revised prices on two of its most closely watched products, effective from November 2026. The Windsor EV — the brand's volume electric car — is now ₹15,000 dearer across every variant, while the flagship Majestor SUV carries a flat ₹1 lakh increase on all three variants currently on sale.

The Windsor EV now starts at ₹14.85 lakh ex-showroom for the Excite variant and runs to ₹17.15 lakh for the Essence. The larger-battery Windsor EV Pro line moves to ₹18.05 lakh for Exclusive Pro and ₹19.15 lakh for Essence Pro. One exception matters: the limited-run Inspire Edition has been left untouched, which briefly makes it the value pick of the range for anyone who can find stock.

All prices are ex-showroom. The Majestor, which opened at ₹40.99 lakh when it was unveiled, has now climbed steadily to a ₹43.49 lakh to ₹45.99 lakh band. The Sharp trim shown at the Faridabad unveiling is still not in showrooms, so buyers currently have only the top-spec Savvy line to choose from.

Why This Hike Matters More Than the Number

₹15,000 on a ₹15 lakh EV is one percent, and on its own it will not decide a purchase. What it signals is more important. MG has now joined Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki in pushing prices up in the middle of the festive season rather than waiting for the traditional January window, and it did so on its highest-volume EV, not a halo product.

For the Majestor, the ₹1 lakh revision lands differently. At ₹43.49 lakh and above, it sits directly against the Toyota Fortuner, the Skoda Kodiaq, the Volkswagen Tayron and the Jeep Meridian — cars with long-established resale records. A lakh of extra sticker price on a new nameplate makes that comparison harder to win.

What This Means for You

If you have a Windsor EV booking that has not yet been invoiced, ask your dealer in writing whether the price on your booking form is protected, because manufacturer revisions typically apply to unbilled cars. If you are still choosing, the Inspire Edition is the obvious question to ask about first, and the battery-subscription route on the Windsor is worth pricing out before you decide, since it changes the upfront number entirely.
